The AMA Foundation is thrilled to kick off Give From the Heart Week, our annual American Medical Association employee giving campaign, from Monday, Feb. 10, through Friday, Feb. 14. For nearly a decade, this initiative has brought staff together to support medical student scholarships, making a lasting impact on the next generation of physician leaders.
Through the Physicians of Tomorrow program, AMA employee-funded scholarships help ease the stress of medical school expenses and foster diversity in the physician community. This year’s recipients, Thomas Freitag, MPP, (Harvard Medical School) and Kristen Sportiello (University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry), share how your generosity has shaped their journeys:
“Your contributions have allowed me to pursue my clinical passions and take the next step toward serving the communities I love.” – Thomas Freitag, MPP
“This scholarship has dramatically improved my financial situation, reduced stress, and allowed me to focus on what matters most: learning to care for patients and working on research that benefits marginalized communities.” – Kristen Sportiello
We invite you to celebrate these extraordinary students and their inspiring achievements during Give From the Heart Week! Visit our news section and YouTube channel to hear their stories firsthand.
🚨❗ AMA Chicago employees: Stop by the 47th floor on Wednesday, Feb. 12, to pick up some AMA Foundation goodies and giveaways, including lapel pins and blankets. Staff will also accept donations near the café area in the morning and early afternoon. 🚨❗
Together, we can empower the next generation of physician leaders. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to advancing medical education.
