Commonly Asked Questions
What is the time commitment to be a mentor?
We ask that mentors contact their mentees monthly, at a minimum – whether that be by email, Skype, or phone. Quarterly, we will ask for mentees to provide feedback on these interactions. There will also be mentor-mentee events at the AMA Annual Meeting in Chicago, and we ask everyone to attend that are able.
How do I review applications?
Reviewing applications is done completely online through the AMA Foundation’s application portal. The review process typically happens over the course of a few weeks, and should take approximately 5-10 hours total, depending on the volume of applications.
How do I host an event?
The Foundation will work closely with you about what hosting an event looks like for you. Whether in-person or virtual, the Foundation will be there step-by-step with resources and suggestions to help make your event a success!
