Recovery
When disaster strikes, the AMA Foundation mobilizes to support physicians and health care providers on the front lines. The Disaster Recovery Fund provides timely financial assistance to medical societies and health-related organizations in FEMA-declared disaster zones, helping maintain access to care when communities need it most. From emergency medical supplies and mobile health stations to the rebuilding of damaged physician practices, the fund supports critical recovery efforts that restore health services and stabilize local care systems. With more than $500,000 in aid granted across states including Alabama, Colorado, Florida, and North Carolina, the fund reflects the AMA Foundation’s enduring commitment to the physician community and the resilience of the healthcare infrastructure.
