Last month, the American Medical Association (AMA) held a special virtual meeting of its House of Delegates. At a time of true need and uncertainty, physicians have continued to give back and lead our nation in so many ways. Throughout the meeting, the Foundation and its Board of Directors focused on thanking individuals for their service and dedication. This included a special video presentation, a virtual reception, personal expressions of gratitude, and more.
In total, $55,750 was generously donated in support of the AMA Foundation from attendees. We are proud to recognize the following AMA delegations and councils for achieving 100% giving participation in 2021:
- Alaska
- AMA Board of Trustees
- American College of Gastroenterology
- Colorado
- Council on Medical Education
- GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality
- Idaho
- New Jersey
- Oregon
- Rhode Island
- Vermont
- Veterans Affairs
The Foundation’s virtual reception featured recipients of our Community Health Programming, Leadership Development Institute, and Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarships. Focusing on expressing gratitude, nearly 100 guests had the opportunity to speak with medical students and community health workers and learn how their support has positively impacted their lives and organizations. You can hear from one of these recipients below:
We again want to thank all those who continue to serve their communities and support us in our mission of bringing together physicians and communities to improve our nation’s health.
