Inside LDI: Spotlight on Nikita Manjrekar
Inside LDI takes a closer look at the emerging physician leaders transforming the future of medicine through the AMA Foundation’s Leadership Development Institute.
Originally from Dubai, Nikita Manjrekar discovered her passion for medicine at the intersection of research and patient care. She earned her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University, where she first explored the link between molecular science and clinical outcomes. Her research journey led her to Harvard Medical School’s Sabatini Lab and later to Boston University’s Chen Lab, where she contributed to projects bridging neuroscience and real-world application.

Now a fourth-year medical student at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Nikita is completing her clinical rotations in New York City. As a member of the Health care Administration and Management (HCAM) cohort, she is expanding her understanding of how health systems, hospital operations, and policy shape patient outcomes.
“Advocacy for evidenced based medicine and affordable, equitable and accessible health care is a priority for me in the everchanging landscape of health care policy. ”
Nikita hopes to become a physician who not only treats patients but also helps reform the systems that serve them.
