Cedric M. Bright, MD
Dr. Cedric Bright is vice dean for medical education and admissions and professor of internal medicine at the Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. He previously served as associate dean of inclusive excellence at UNC School of Medicine and as the 112th president of the National Medical Association, where he advocated for health equity and diversity in clinical trials.
Dr. Bright has held academic roles at Duke University, the VA Medical Center in Durham, and Brown University. A mentor to many, he was featured in Black Male in a White Coat and Altering the Course: Black Males in Medicine. He has addressed the Congressional Black Caucus on veterans’ health and health disparities.
Dr. Bright is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves on several boards, including the National Medical Fellowships Inc. and the W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute. He is a member of Sigma Pi Phi and Omega Psi Phi.
