Albert Ray, MD
Dr. Albert Ray is board-certified in family medicine in the U.S. and Canada. Born in New York City, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College in 1969 and his MD from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium in 1976. Dr. Ray completed his internship at Memorial University in Newfoundland and his family medicine residency at McGill University’s Jewish General Hospital in 1978.
A family physician since 1978, Dr. Ray began his career with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in San Diego. He is partner emeritus at Kaiser Permanente Positive Choice Integrative Wellness Center, medical director of Kaiser Permanente California Member Relations, and medical director of Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company. He served as assistant chief in the Department of Family Medicine, president of Kaiser Foundation Hospital, and was an elected member of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group Board of Directors from 1997–2008.
Dr. Ray is an expert medical reviewer for the Medical Board of California and a certified medical coder with the American Academy of Professional Coders.
