David Welsh, MD, MBA

Dr. David Welsh is a board-certified general surgeon practicing in Southeast Indiana. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Indiana University School of Medicine, he earned his MBA from Ball State University.

Dr. Welsh has served over 25 years as a county health officer and is active in Indiana’s trauma care system development. He has served in leadership roles within the AMA Organized Medical Staff Section, the AMA Council on Science and Public Health, and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Board of Regents. Dr. Welsh is a former president of the Indiana State Medical Association and active educator for medical students and residents. He resides in Batesville, Indiana, with his wife, Mary Beth.
