Shilpen Patel, MD
Dr. Shilpen Patel is a radiation oncologist practicing at Good Samaritan Hospital in the Bay Area. He holds affiliate appointments as an associate professor in the University of Washington’s Department of Global Health and in the Division of Public Health at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Dr. Patel recently completed the Medical Justice Advocacy Fellowship at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute and the American Medical Association. He is actively involved in nonprofit organizations focused on medical advocacy, global health, and public health. He serves on the AMA Council on Long Range Planning and Development and the Specialty and Service Society Governing Council. He previously chaired the AMA Young Physician Section and the LGBTQ Advisory Committee.
His philanthropic work includes leadership roles with Radiating Hope, RAD-AID, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and the American College of Radiation Oncology. He currently serves as co-chair of the board of the Horizons Foundation and chair of the executive trustees of the Phi Chi Medical Foundation.
