The AMA Foundation
Health Equity
Acceleration Fund
With a heightened sense of urgency around building an inclusive physician workforce for the future, the AMA explores the challenges medical schools face following the reversal of affirmative action. Increasing Physician Workforce Diversity is a two-year project that examines the landscape of medical school admissions and physician communities to better understand emerging challenges, next steps, and potential barriers to progress. The project highlights successes and challenges in strengthening the physician workforce, informs key stakeholders, and develops practical tools and guidance to help organizations move forward in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
“Health equity initiatives at the AMA Foundation address the underlying causes of disparities and help our communities thrive. I have seen these barriers impact patient populations firsthand, fueling my commitment to advancing this critical work.”
Thomas J Madejski, MD
AMA Foundation, Board Member
